OMD4 Meet-N-Pose Edmonton 2014

Photo: Luke Kowand; Model: Sylvia Mellott; Hair: Jack'd Up Beauty Boutique; Makeup: Olivia MorleyWhat do you get when you mix five models and four photographers with two makeup and hair specialists in an abandoned movie theatre?  Magic, of course.

OMD4 Makeup & FX held it's third Meet-N-Pose event on Sunday, November 16th at the old Londonderry Mall movie theatre in Edmonton's Northeast.

Creative minds from Edmonton and Calgary came together for a full day of shooting.  It was an opportunity for participants to met up, share their experiences and build their portfolios.

The stations-based set up gave photographers a chance to work with each of the models at least once during the day.

Hollywood Glam and Edge

We'd like to thank Darin Wayne for opening up this wonderful location for us.  The movie theatre, which was built in 1971 and closed in 1994, offered up everything from brightly-painted rooms to dimly-lit back halls, textured and stone walls to a stage full of props.

As there was no set theme for the shoots, photographers and models took inspiration from the site which resulted in a wide range of final styles and concepts.

Angela Funk's shoot with Susanna wearing a long white gown in front of the plush red curtains are reminiscent of old Hollywood, while Darin's work with Kazper Harley and Steph Melville, as seen below, is classy with a hard rock edge.

Where Luke Kowand's black and white images of Kazper Harley in a dusty stone stairwell are very film noir, Jackie Duncan, inspired by a bold makeup choice, gave us a stunning fashion editorial with Sylvia Mellott.

Thank-you to everyone who attended the event and we look forward to seeing many more amazing photos.

The makeups are cosmetic products that are applied to the face for beautification purposes. Some of the common makeups are lipsticks, foundation powders and eyeliners. These makeups are feminine products, which means that these products are made for the use of women to enhance their feminine side. But these cosmetic products can also be used by the gays and the Transgenders to achieve a feminine look. People usually use makeups if they will attend an occasion or event. They want to become beautiful in front of the camera because these kind of special events has a lot of picture taking or photo shoot.
