Back at the ATB Financial Arts Barn in Edmonton for night five of the Western Canada Fashion Week where the evening's designers were homegrown Albertans.
Tuesday Night's Line Up
Gypsy Eyes Prairie Skies Designs
Eccentric Embellishments [Grand Prairie, AB]
Nimmaré [Calgary, AB]
Susanna Pearcey [Edmonton. AB]
Mark Abenir [Calgary, AB]
Susanna Pearcy's early 60s-inspired collection took us back to time where shifts (straight-cut simple dresses) and sophisticated, but comfortable pant suits were the thing to wear. Paired with the classic beehive hair style, the overall effect was pleasing and nostalgic.
A more modern chic look came with Gyspy Eyes and Prairie Skies Design while the Nimmaré collection of pastel pink and neutral hues in flowing satin was a breath of Spring air.

After taking his label Averynthe to Vancouver Fashion Week earlier in March, Calgary-based designer Mark Abenier brought his Oseania collection to the runway in Edmonton, AB for the Local Collections night of the Western Canada Fashion Week on Tuesday.
OMD4Makeup & FX's Olivia Morley was one of three makeup artists working to give the 11 models just the right look.
It was Mark, who frequently brought his dance floor moves to the crowded (and hot) prep room, and his vivacious personality that kept both the energy and spirits of all involved high.
Mark's Oseania collection features eye-catching geometrics over a sea of billowing black and whites with metallic embellishments that is reminiscent of ancient Greece, but with futuristic twist (at least to these eyes).
Mark, however, sites a different inspiration. He said: "It was mermaids and robotic bitches. No, wait. Intergalactic strippers."
With a snap of his fingers he added: "It's fierce, classy and a little bit sassy."
